Roses red in the dew, daggers of the earth.
I want to dance down the track marks of your arm.
Heat flairs across my body fingers float across your skin.
Your taste lingers, a sunburn on my flesh
Ears ringing sweet like candy.
You left a scent on my sheets.
Smells like music.
I need you, I crave you, I devour you.
Skin turns to ice, your footsteps fade.
We are happy once upon a time,
before your darkling heart turned dank.
My voice cracks and once more I am lonely.
Abandoned.
I said I’d fight back.
I didn’t say that I’d fight fair.
The dour venom of your soul
floods my veins, leaving scars.
Memories of our escapades,
serenading me with screams.
Walk through the rubble that was our life.
I will rebuild them,
stronger, without you.
Fire licks my skin, cleansing me.
Roses white in the wind, whispers of hope.
